Poetexts: Temporary Mind Wandering

Temporary Mind Wandering

What is this

This communication we have both been seeking

Waiting for a reply

Until the morning light

A verbal exchange of past, presents, and futuristic desires

Hungering for a meal that has never before been prepared

Either that or it has simply been ignored

Are you feeling me

‘Cause I am feeling you

Your words

Your aspirations

Your need for more

So keep bringing the conversation because I want some more

And more

And more

Until I can’t take no more

And then give me some more

Let there be no confusion

This world is full of illusions

Contorted thoughts

And humiliating miscommunications

I’ll just sit back and wait for the next communication

  • I like this poem. Reminded me of that feeling of always waiting on something. I don’t like that feeling but it happens. How do I conquer it? I remember what I have NOW and live in the moment.

    • NOW is what is most important. I’m glad you were able to recognize that and live in it, Lola. Thanks for sharing.
